I plan on doing an abstract emotionalism series for an art show in June 2011. I am going to be doing paintings like the one on the left that capture a lot of emotion, but are still artistic. I am going to do Martin Luther King Jr., Oprah Winfrey, Michael Phelps, Michelle Obama, Lebron James, and Tyson Gay. I need to spend a lot of time mixing colors because I feel that that is where a lot of the emotion comes from. My inspiration is Andy Warhol and Shepard Fairey. Plus we also did this project in art class. I might add my own touch to it, which I always do, but I might do it the same way that we did it in class. I'm not sure yet. I was also thinking about doing it in dots to capture the simplicity of the depicting emotion. Not sure...
